In Sharpe v. A&W Concentrate Co., a lawsuit filed in August 2020, plaintiffs claimed that A&W Concentrate Company and Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. falsely labeled their A&W Root Beer and Cream Soda products as “Made With Aged Vanilla.” They argued that the products primarily contained an artificial ingredient called ethyl vanillin instead of natural vanilla.

A&W Concentrate Company and Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. agreed to provide reimbursement to eligible consumers who purchased the falsely advertised beverages during the period from February 7, 2016, to June 2, 2023.
