Find a Side Hustle to Make Extra Money

How to Scan for Cheaper Flights & Travel for Cheap

In the last post, I shared with you how to flip products for profit. I'm up over $12,000 profit for the week. If you missed that post, click here on how to make over $3,200 this week. One of the benefits to sticking to a “make money” strategy is that you charge all of your business expenses and watch your points skyrocket.

The unexpected result of flipping items is that I hit my bonus points within a week. I earned 40,000 bonus points that I can use towards flights, cars & hotels. I just made a TikTok showing you step by step.

Step 1: Get a Reward Credit Card

When you apply for the Southwest Airlines Rewards Credit Card, they give you a chance to earn 40,000 bonus points if you spend a certain amount within 90 days. And that amount is just $1,000.

When you flip items, you can hit that amount within a weekend. We love Southwest Airlines because not only can you fly for $11.20, there are no baggage fees – so you truly are traveling for $11.20. And if you get there early, you can easily get a good seat because they use the first come, first-board policy.

Step 2: How to Search for Cheap Flights

Now, you can search for cheaper flights on Google & when you use the map mode as seen in the video, you can be adventurous and pick a new location.

You can zoom in to view different city's cheapest flights here. For a detailed about how to search for cheap flights, click here. If you're not ready to book a trip, you can use Google Flights to track prices for a flight or route.

Step 3: Pay with Your Points

When you search for flights, make sure you select “by points” to view how many points it takes to fly. Now that I have close to 54,000 in points, I can fly around the world and back for $11 taxes and fees.

Book with points is easy:

  1. Log in to your Rapid Rewards account on the Southwest.com® homepage.
  2. Enter your flight information and view fares in points.
  3. Select your flight, review the price and schedule.
  4. Input your information and then purchase the flight.

In this case, I want to go to Vegas for a week at the end of the month. It will cost me around 5,442 points. All I pay is the $11.20 taxes and fees. Because I hit my credit card bonus, I can take 8 total trips.

Now the question is… Where should I go next?
