I was watching the news a few weeks ago when I was introduced to Swimply. It's uber for your swimming pool. Swimply allows you to list your swimming pool and your neighbors can rent your pool by the hour. I currently have my pool listed at $37 per hour, and it stayed booked for the entire weekend. I woke up with three more appointments that were auto-approved and auto-charged. The best part is that Swimply took care of the marketing, the appointment and the payments.
How Does Swimply Work?
Before you dive into how Swimply works, click here to take a look at pools for rent NEAR you. When you press the “show pools” near you button, you will see this page. Here you can filter the pools by price and amenities to narrow your search.

Swimply allows you to search for swimming pools near you & instantly book to reserve a specific time period. If you have a swimming pool, you can list your swimming for rent and get paid by the hour.
After I noticed that there were no pools listed within 5 miles of my house, I decided to list my home to get a step ahead of my neighborhood's market. I used these pool listings in this search above as a guide to show me what to say / what to post / what to charge on my listing.
How Much Should You Charge for Your Swimming Pool
Swimply offers suggested pricing that looks similar to this.
Basic $15 – $29 per hour
Very simple pool with not too many extras.
Comfort $30 – $44 per hour
Pool with furniture and a few amenities.
Luxury $45 to $59 per hour
Large backyard with a ton of amenities like pool toys, floaties, tables, umbrellas and lounge chairs.
VIP $60 to $100 per hour
High end experience in a resort-like pool atmosphere.
To start, I have priced my pool at $37 per hour. I spent the pandemic creating a resort-like atmosphere with tons of amenities. However, to build up my reviews, I want to price lower than the nearest pool to start gaining reviews and referrals.
How to Fill Out the Perfect Swimply Pool Profile
So you ready to make money with Swimply but you need help filling out the pool profile. Here are the categories for your swimming pool's listing.
They have it broken down into three major categories: Pool and Space, Amenities and Profile
Swimply Pool Profile
Under your profile, you'll fill out the title, description and add images of your pool. Here are some of the most popular swimming pool titles that make the most money.
- Perfect Fun Hangout
- Zen Retreat Pool
- The Simple Life (Heated, 2 Hour Minimum)
- Daycation
- Location + Oasis
- Family Friendly – No Deep End
- City Urban Oasis with Heated Pool
Seems that people who will be renting your pool really want the retreat, relaxation staycation because they don't have a swimming pool and don't take it for granted like swimming pool owners.
Pool and Space
Swimply walks you through how to fill out this section, but this is where you fill in the details about your pool (size, depth, toys, umbrellas, restrooms, privacy and parking). At the end of this section, your pool profile will look like this:
About the pool
Saltwater
Children and infants are or are not allowed.
Pets are or are not allowed
Chilled Out
Full refund (excluding service fee) up to 1 or 3 days (72 hours) before reservation start time.
Instant book enabled for groups up to 5 or groups of 8 or no limit
Restroom available
Primary residence restroom or pool house restroom
Pool Amenities
Under pool amenities is where you can add everything included in a guest's swim. When a guest shows up during their appointment, what is all included? This is where you can have fun with it… Do you have a grill they can use, just click the Add button if you do. Do you have a hot tube? Towels? Shower?

What Amenities Can I Provide to Make More Money
You can provide and charge more for premium amenties. To get to this section, just click on your picture in the upper right corner and manage your listing. Then, click on pool info / premium amenities.
Let me give you a few ideas on what you can provide to increase your listings and your rental price.
- Outdoor Cooler for Drinks
- Ice Water Jug with Cups
- Netflix on Outdoor TV
- Ping Pong Table
- Indoor Treadmill
- Indoor Yoga
- Indoor Gym
- Indoor Cold Lounge
- Restrooms
- Shower
- Outdoor Shower
- Indoor Shower
- Indoor Jacuzzi
- Snacks
- Basketball Court
- Tennis Court
- Pool Games
- Pool Floaties
- Trampoline
- Pool Toys
- Speakers
- Portable Speakers
- Jam Box
- Karoake Machine
- Towels
- Jenga
- Outdoor Lawn Games
- Lawn Darts
- Lawn Cornhole
- Outdoor Fridge
Now, here's what I suggest you do. Create a list of everything you provide. Circle the premium items that you would charge extra for. For example, providing a karaoke machine is a premium service that you can create an additional upcharge and your guest can add it to the listing. Indoor Jacuzzi with bubble bath would be another premium service that your guest could add as an upcharge.
Additional Rules for Renting Out Your Pool
Under additional rules, you can add your no running, no diving, no glass in pool and not liable for any personal injuries. I have explained all the additional amenities that people get when they book a swim. Luckily, my house has a guest room off the pool area that is not accessible to inside the house. My guests can cool down in that room and change/shower in private.
How Much Money Can You Make Renting Out Your Swimming Pool
I love finding these additional side hustles that you can easily tap into to make additional money, especially when inflation and gas prices are out of control. I turned on my pool listing 9 days ago and have booked / completed 16 hours of pool rental time.
16 hours x $37 = $592
Swimply charges 15% which would come to around $88. So for the first 9 days, I have made an easy $500 which came mostly from the weekend. If this continues in a similar fashion, I'll hit $3,000 by day 30.
How to Get Started with Swimply
Are you ready to get started? You can fill out your profile and pause/restart it at your convenience. If you want to take a break, you can pause your listing. If you're going out of town or have guests in town, you can block off those dates within the listing. It is very user-friendly.
